TOP

How much time do I get to complete a course?

TOP

TOP

Who will help me if I run into a technical problem?

Will I receive a certificate of completion for taking these courses?

Certificates of completion are not available for our free courses. Certificates of completion are only available for successfully completing courses from one of our paid subscriptions.

Our free courses are set up on a "shared" access with many people accessing the same courses at the same time. This shared access prevents us from being able to offer a certificate of completion for people taking the free courses.

We set the free courses up on shared access to allow a greater number of people to take one of our free courses. Our paid subscriptions are set up on individual access and every course completed leads to a certificate of completion.

For the courses in our paid subscriptions, yes, you can download and print out a certificate of completion for each course completed. The certificate is professionally designed, you can use high quaility paper, and it is personalized with your name, the title of the course, the date the course was completed, and signed by the president of our training provider.
TOP

Do I get any kind of credit for taking these courses?

You can receive CEU's - Continuing Education Units - for every course you complete through e-LearningCenter's library. All our courses now offer you the opportunity to earn Continuing Education Units from accredited universities for successfully completing any of e-LearningCenter's courses.

CEUs are currently awarded by both Ohio University and Otterbein College, also in Ohio. You can also receive a Certificate of Completion for every course you complete to show your employer (or future employer) the steps you are taking to improve your skills.

CEU's are not available for the free courses.
TOP

Do I need to download a plug-in?

Only the Flash web player which is already in wide use and probably already on your computer.
TOP

Will there be more courses available in the future?

New courses are being added all the time. As these courses are added, many are added to existing subscriptions and packs automatically, at no additional cost to the student whatsoever.
TOP

What is a skill assessment?

Each course includes a 30-question Skill Assessment, which evaluates your knowledge of the course material. The Skill Assessment can be used for pre and post-testing. Both your first and best scores are recorded for your viewing. While you may EXIT the Skill Assessment at any time, you must complete it at one sitting to receive a score.
TOP

What can I do to improve my scores?

Once you have completed a Unit within a Course, go back and re-answer every question in that Unit. Your improved score for that Unit will then be recorded. Please note that the free courses do not allow us to keep an accurate score. Accurate transcripts are only available for courses from paid subscriptions.
TOP

How do I see my scores?

Both Skill Assessment scores and Course scores are available through the My Transcripts screen, which you access from the Course Tools tab at the left of the course window. Please note that the free courses do not allow us to keep an accurate score. Accurate transcripts are only available for courses from paid subscriptions.
TOP

How do I take a course?

After your subscription is set up, a link to our login web site will be e-mailed to you. Click on student login icon, sign-in, and begin taking courses. Specific instructions will be e-mailed to you after your payment is processed.
TOP

Can I return directly to my last page completed the next time I login?

Yes, in two ways:

The courses automatically use a global bookmark to mark the last page you were working on. This happens automatically when you click the EXIT button in the toolbar. Then the next time you sign on with your UserID and Password and select that course, you will be taken to the marked location where you left off. This global bookmarking feature works even if your next log in is from another computer.

You can also bookmark the last page worked on by adding it to your Bookmarks or Favorites on your individual browser. However this type of bookmark would not take you to where you last left off if your next log in is on a different computer, hence a different browser. And you will still need to go to the Training section front page first to log-in.
TOP

What do I need to do to get full course completion credit?

To get full credit for completing a course, you must answer every "Think About It" question. You get credit for completing a Unit when you answer every question in that Unit. The course is completed when you have answered every question, in every Unit of that course.
TOP

Where do I get the student guide?

If the courses has a student guide, go to the Table of Contents to download. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required, which can also be downloaded for free from within the course. The student guide is not required to take the course. In addition, the paid courses have a print mode which allows you to print out the course content for your personal use.
TOP

Can I run the courses on a Mac?

Since Internet Explorer for Windows is the only browser which supports all of the technolgy in the courses, Mac and Linux operating systems will have problems unless Virtual PC or other Windows simulation program is used.
TOP

Can I access your courses from AOL?

All of the most recent versions of AOL work with no problems whatsoever.
TOP

What makes these online courses high quality?

Our e-learning courses are based on sound principles, from extensive research in instructional design, adult learning and information processing. All online training courses are designed so that new knowledge and skills will be remembered and retrieved for future use.

Each subscription is divided into courses. Courses are divided into units. Each unit consists of:

- A well-defined set of learning objectives.
- A series of interactions that teach the stated objectives.
- A means for evaluating whether the learning objectives have been met.
